The Patriots Advancement for Good Leadership, operating as Political Awareness Group, PAG, an organization of Muslim professionals, technocrats, and artisans seeking good governance, wishes to commiserate with the family, the entire Muslims, Yoruba land, and beyond, Oyo state Government, and Nigerians in general, on the exit of the icon – poet, Alhaji Moshood Olanrewaju Adepoju
In his lifetime, Alh Olanrewaju Adepoju contributed immensely to the cultural gratification, development, edification, and beautification of Yoruba oration, drama, and literature.
He also contributed immensely to building national values and refining the people through his poetic messages which sought often to build the people’s morals, monotheism, and national orientation. The eloquent and fearless rendition of his brand of Yoruba poetry was not only entertaining but also served as an instrument of cultural rebirth for educating, enlightening, informing, elevating, and lifting many souls with his powerful and melodious poetic prowess.
Alhaji Olanrewaju Adepoju contributed to National economic development and job creation in the entertainment industry through his several record labels. His works of art will continue to be relevant for soul refinement, creativity, and literary appreciation.
Notable of his literary contributions to the entrenchment of moral values and promotion of national unity were: “Ladepo Omo Adanwo”, and “Ede aiye ede” among others.
Alh Adepoju, the Alasa of Ibadanland, also contributed to religious advancement and harmony in the country with his establishment of the Universal Muslim Brotherhood, UMB, with which many souls were guided unto the light of Islam.
We pray unto Allah to give the entire Nation, the Oyo state government, the Yoruba, the Muslim world, and the family, sufficient faith and fortitude to bear this undoubtedly irreparable loss.
We sincerely ask Allah to accept his return, widen his grave, overlook his sins, and admit him to the highest place in paradise. Aameen
