Just a week after receiving the prestigious “Most Outstanding Agency” award at the grand finale of the 2024 Oyo State Civil Service Week, our agency is thrilled to announce another momentous achievement. The Executive Secretary of our Agency has been officially recognized by the Oyo State Labour Veterans Association for his exceptional leadership and transformative contributions to the health sector.
This recognition is a testament to the Executive Secretary’s dedication, vision, and tireless efforts in driving key reforms that have substantially improved the healthcare system in Oyo State. Under his leadership, the Agency has implemented groundbreaking initiatives that have enhanced healthcare accessibility, quality of service delivery, and overall public health outcomes. His leadership has played a crucial role in fostering collaborations between government, private sector partners, and healthcare professionals, ensuring that the needs of the state’s populace are met with precision and care.
The Oyo State Labour Veterans Association, known for its role in honoring individuals who have made lasting impacts in various sectors, highlighted the Executive Secretary’s innovative approach to health sector reform, especially his commitment to improving health infrastructure, workforce capacity, and enrollee-centered care. The association acknowledged his strategic foresight and effective management in ensuring that health services across the state continue to grow in scope and efficiency.
This recognition follows the heels of the Agency’s recent award, further solidifying our standing as a leader in public service excellence. It reflects the collective efforts of our team, led by the Executive Secretary, in creating a sustainable and improved healthcare framework that prioritizes the well-being of every citizen.
The honorees of this special event are The E.S OYSHIA, Dr Sola Akande, Prof Kehinde Kester of the Department of Adult Education, University of Ibadan who did justice to the theme of the Lecture “Relevance and integrity in Labour.
Prof.Kehinde Kester emphasized the importance of the power of integrity. “We should always ask ourselves what people will say about us when we leave our seat.” He added that politics is virtually everywhere, from family setting to every sphere of life. We can’t do without politics as Labour needs to be in politics in order to protect its members, for advocacy and purposes of participation in election as well as processes in strike action.
He charged the Veterans to make themselves available in providing strategic guidance to the union, for they still need their wealth of experiences as mentors and mirrors in the union. He admonished the leaders to write memoirs for the upcoming to read as a historical content.
The Executive Secretary, in his response to the recognition, expressed deep gratitude to the Oyo State Labour Veterans Association for their trust and acknowledgement. He dedicated the award to the hard-working members of the Agency, health workers across the state, and all stakeholders whose efforts have been instrumental in the ongoing health reforms.
