A socio-political group, Oyo Citizens Forum (OCF) has warned a former governor of Oyo State, Chief Adebayo Alao-Akala, against what it called an “unholy” alliance with the All Progressives Congress (APC) regarding the forthcoming March 9 governorship election in the state.

President of the group, Kareem Adeleke, in a statement issued in Abuja, said such alliance consumated with Alao-Akala by the APC leaders led by one of its national leaders, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, is selfish, anti-people and insensitive.

OCF therefore called on the Ogbomoso-born politician to immediately abandon the alliance with the few and stand with the majority of the citizens of the Pace Setter state, who currently yearn for a genuine change and good governance.

“There is no doubt that former Governor Christopher Adebayo Alao-Akala enjoys massive goodwill in Oyo state and in particular Ogbomoso and Oke-Ogun areas of the state. But at this defining moment, his decision to enter into an unholy alliance with a few who assumed the role of kingmakers and landlords, is selfish, anti-people and ultimately insensitive at this very moment that Oyo state genuinely need a responsive government and good governance.

“The right thing for former governor Alao-Akala to do now having been lured with certain privileges, is to immediately extricate himself from the anti-people gang-up before it is too late and stand with the majority of Oyo state people to enthrone a new and listening party for the governance of the state come March 9,” Adeleke said.

It will be recalled that the former governor left the APC in October, 2018 to pick the governorship ticket of the African Democratic Party (ADP), which he had reportedly jettisoned to embrace the APC allaince against the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate, Engr. Seyi Makinde.
