…Ogunremi Told Me Meeting Was Hijacked, Manipulated
One of the frontline aspirants for Oyo Central Senatorial District, Comrade Wale Ajani who is a major contender for the Senatorial ticket of the Peoples Democratic Party in the 2023 general election, has submitted his Nomination and Expression of Interest forms at the national secretariat of the party.
The forms, which were submitted on his behalf by his team is a confirmation of Wale Ajani’s preparedness to get to work to unify all the eleven local governments that make up the district and return the PDP to its enviable heights.
Ajani in a telephone conversation with journalists expressed readiness to participate in the party’s primaries as stipulated as one of the guidelines to produce it candidate.
He however, denied that he wasn’t aware of any consensus arrangement anywhere adding that he has only been reading on various social media platforms about the process ongoing at the Government House. His words:
“Well, as for me, I am not aware of any consensus arrangement for our Senatorial district. What our leader, Governor Seyi Makinde directed stakeholders in various local governments to do was to find common ground to nominate consensus candidates for Oyo House of Assembly and House of Representatives.
“Our Governor is a democrat who understands democratic principles. He is one of the national leaders of the party. We all remember the crucial roles he played at the last national convention of our great party.
“On last Sunday’s meeting held at the Senatorial headquarters in Ojoo area of Akinyele local government, it was the Senatorial Chairman, Mr Ogunremi that called and asked if he should refund the one million naira that I willingly gave to all the party leaders as honorarium, I never demanded for a refund.
“He returned the money because he is a man of conscience as he also agreed that the meeting was hijacked and manipulated by some characters.”
