An APC gubernatorial aspirant in the 2019 general elections in Oyo State, Barrister Akeem Agbaje has called on members of the party in the state to come together and take over the mantle of leadership in the state come 2023.
Addressing some members of the party in Ibadan, Barrister Agbaje expressed optimism that APC can take over the helm of affairs in the state only if there is unity between all stakeholders and members of the party.
He also appealed to members of the party to forget the setbacks and disappointments of the past and resolve to work together to reposition it back to its glory.
He also stated that he is of the firm belief that the reconciliation of aggrieved party members and those that left the party in the wake of the 2019 elections is the only way forward and path remaining to create a formidable and sustainable APC in Oyo State.
Speaking further, he urged party stalwarts, stakeholders and members to focus more on reconciliation rather than on their personal ambition which can be an obstacle to genuine reconciliation efforts noting that the presence of factions and groups within the party will not bring the desired results.
He also used the occasion to thank party members who stood with the party despite the challenges it is facing adding that he has been going round working day and night to reconcile and bring back aggrieved members of the party.
