Oyo town was agog yesterday as one of its sons, Honorable Kazeem Kolawole Raji declared to contest for senate seat representing Oyo Central Senatorial District at the upper chamber in Abuja in 2023 under the auspices of All Progressives Congress (APC).
Receiving the aspirant and his large entourage, Alhaji Kolawole Yunusa, the Chairman of Oyo East APC, on behalf of the members of the party acknowledged Hon. K. K. Raji for the good work, his sterling qualities and eulogized his virtues as one of the eggheads in Oyo Federal Constituency.
Responding to the good gesture of the party chairman and all members of the party at the occasion, Hon. K. K. Raji appreciated the Executive Committee and APC Members, Oyo East local government for receiving him with open hands and enthusiasm and made a generous donation of one million Naira (N1,000,000.00) for enablement and mobilisation of Party members for INEC Continuous Voters Registration exercise.
In his response, he appealed to the party faithfuls to always treat aspirants prospecting for one position or another with open arms and without prejudice.
He affirmed that God alone knows who he has chosen to be in any position.
He reiterated the need for all the members and groups to work together as one as no single tree can make a forest. It is in working together that the party can excel in 2023.
He appealed to aggrieved members during the last congresses to let go of their grievances and work together with the Exco members to move the party forward. As he said, there are many more gains ahead if we work together.
He also encouraged the excos to mobilise members and everyone who do not have PVC to go for registration as soon as possible because without PVC, eligible voters will be disenfranchised.
