Two prominent Yoruba monarchs — Oba Lamidi Adeyemi, Alaafin of Oyo and Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi, Ooni of Ife, are currently in a meeting with interior minister, Rauf Aregbesola over his rift with his benefactor, Bola Tinubu.
The meeting, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands became important following Aregbesola’s outburst against Tinubu and Gboyega Oyetola, governor of Oyo State, during the build-up to February 2022 primary election of the All Progressives Congress, APC, primaries in Osun.
This newspaper also learnt that the Nigeria Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs, NSCIA, has also waded into the matter.
Another source also told OYOINSIGHT.COM, said it was Aregbesola who asked the two prominent monarchs to resolve his feud with Tinubu, who is eyeing the presidential ticket of the APC in the 2023 election.
Details are still sketching as the meeting was still ongoing Alaafin’s Ibadan residence as at the time of filing this report.
