The electrocuted man was said to ha been rushed to the hospital.

It could not be confirmed whether he was dead or alive as at the time of filing this report.

It was gathered that some electrical cables close to the scene of the incident affected efforts of men of the Oyo State Fire Service to battle the inferno.

The cables, which were said to have live electricity as at the time of the incident, were seen falling off and sparking as the fire raged.

Effort to reach officials of the Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company at the middle of the night on phone were initially futile.

The intervention of the Commandant of Amotekun Corps, Col Olayinka Olayanju (rtd) however helped to save the day as he was said to have sent his men to the IBEDC office at Sasa, requesting them to switch off power on the line.

However, despite assurance by the IBEDC officials on ground that power had been put out, it was gathered fire fighters insisted they must accompany them to the scene to be sure the electrical power had been put off the high tension cables.

It was gathered the cables frustrated the fire fighters despite shaking off fear of attack by angry youths who complained of their lateness to the scene.
