Director general of the Forestry Research Institute of Nigeria, FRIN, Prof Adesola Adepoju, has described the death of former governor Adebayo Alao Akala, as saddening.
Recall that OYOINSIGHT.COM reported that Alao-Akala, died in the early hours of Wednesday.
In a statement to mourn his passage of Alao-Akala who hailed from the same Ogbomosoland with him, Adepoju said it was a death too many for his hometown and Oyo state in general.
“He was not just a father figure to me and others he was also a leader of some sort.
“The timing of his death, at a time when this country’s leadership needs the advise of outstanding leaders like him, is also saddening.
”I saw him few days ago and he did not show any sign of death. I am shocked but there is nothing we can do when the time comes.
“I pray that the Almighty grant his family, friends and associates across Ogbomosho and Oyo State the fortitude to bear the loss.”
