Adesoji Akanbi, who represented Oyo South senatorial district between 2015 and 2019, and his wife, Zikrah Akanbi, has sent condolences to the family of Oba Saliu Adetunji, Olubadan of Ibadanland, who died earlier this morning.
In a statement, the duo who are Okanlomo and Yeye Okanlomo of Ibadanland, said the departed monarch would be sorely missed.
”The death of Oba Saliu Adetunji is a personal loss to us and not only to his family. He loved us and visited our Ibadan home on more than one occasions. He always had words of advises for us. He would tell us how he wanted Ibadanland to be.
”Baba was development-driven. He was committed to the preservation of Ibadan cultural values. We will, like his family and people of Ibadan, miss him.
“Like others before him, he did his best and was always ready to celebrate any of his subjects doing wonderfully well in their chosen fields. He also liked non-indigenes too. He was also religious. We pray Allah grant him Aljannah Fridaus and give us the fortitude to bear the loss. “
