History was made today at the Popoyemoja Palace of the Olubadan of Ibadanland, His Imperial Majesty, Oba Saliu Akanmu Olasupo Adetunji, Ogungunniso 1, as the revered monarch installed Chief Waheed Adepoju Alabi as the Baale of Anlamole.
Earlier, the entire family of Anlamole dynasty led by their Mogaji, Oloye Suraj Abiola Iyiola, had appointed and ratified the appointment of Chief Waheed Adepoju Alabi as the substantive Baale of Anlamole Village, located at Soka Area in Oluyole Local Government area of Oyo state.
During the installation, the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Saliu Adetunji, implored the new Baale to ensure that he pursued peace and tranquility within his village in particular and Ibadanland in general.
The presentation of chieftaincy bead to the new Baale was done by the Eekarun Olubadan of Ibadan, High Chief Amidu Ajibade on behalf of the Olubadan. The High Chief admonished the new Baale not to form the habit of selling parcels of land bequeathed to their family by their forefathers as he opined that if their forefathers had sold the parcels of land, the present generation of Anlamole would not have found any land to occupy.
Oba Saliu Adetunji also showered encomiums on Oloye Abiola Iyiola for being one of the prominent prides of Ibadan who were positively projecting the image of the cosmopolitan city in the Diaspora.
Expressing his gratitude, the Mogaji of Anlamole dynasty, Oloye Abiola Iyiola, thanked the Olubadan and his council for the huge recognition done his family. He assured the monarch that he would continue to do his best for the continued growth and development of Ibadanland.
While expressing his joy, Oloye Abiola Iyiola stated that he was happy that the installation was being done in recognition of Anlamole family as one of the prominent families in Ibadan. He also expressed joy that he was able to have a Baale installed in his family’s village during his reign as the Mogaji.
It should be recalled that in the hierarchy of Ibadan chieftaincy matters, Mogaji is superior to Baale as a Mogaji could gain elevation to Olubadan ladders while a Baale could not gain such elevation.
Prominent Ibadan chiefs who graced the installation ceremony included High Chief Lekan Balogun, Otun Olubadan of Ibadan; High Chief Owolabi Olakulehin, Balogun of Ibadan; Chief Rashidi Ladoja, Osi Olubadan of Ibadan; High Chief Tajudeen Ajibola, Otun Balogun of Ibadan; High Chief Eddy Oyewole, Ashipa Olubadan of Ibadan and High Chief Amidu Ajibade, Eekarun Olubadan of Ibadan.
