Lagos-based solicitor and legal consultant, Ifedolapo Ologburo, has distributed hands sanitizers to residents of Oyo State as part of the effort to contain the spread of the dreaded coronavirus.
The philanthropist who undertook a public sensitization campaign against the virus said that the gesture of distributing the sanitizers was to ensure that residents of Oyo State maintain a high standard of personal hygiene, which is a pivotal requirement for containing the spread of the disease.
Ologburo noted that her campaign is geared towards supporting the massive work already being done by the Oyo State government, and also commends the state government led by Engineer Seyi Makinde for being the first and only state government in the country to have fully constructed Covid-19 diagnostic centers without grants from either the federal government or the World Health Organization.
According to her, “it’s a really impressive thing that the Makinde administration has done here and it becomes more imperative that we should join hands with the state government in ensuring that we defeat the coronavirus pandemics.
“We have embarked on massive sensitization campaign and I am happy to tell you that the people of Oyo State are taking the threats posed by this deadly virus more seriously. We will continue to give support to what is already being done by the federal and state government in small ways that we can.
“The bigger objective is ensuring that people key into a better personal hygiene lifestyle because that is pre-eminent in reducing the fangs of this virus.”
The philanthropist said that she has launched her campaign in the ancient city of Ibadan owing to the fact that Ibadan has the biggest population concentration in Oyo State, and “it is essential that we control the virus where the risks of its spread is higher.”
The campaign against the Corona Virus is on – going in other key cities of Oyo State .
