Raufu Olaniyan, deputy governor of Oyo State, has commiserated with the family and constituents of Ademola Olusegun Popoola, lawmaker representing Ibadan South East 2, who died early Wednesday morning.
Popoola’s death came months after battling kidney-related ailment for close to two months at the University College Hospital, UCH, Ibadan.
Olaniyan said he is saddened with the news of the death of the lawmaker whom he described as a gentleman legislator who discharged his legislative duties with diligence, commitment and high sense of patriotism.
The deputy governor maintained that, though we see the timing as unripe, late Popoola lived a life of impact and service and contributed immensely to the development of our democratic system and good governance.
He prayed for his gentle soul to rest in peace and may God give us the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
