Following the appointment and installation of Ọba Afolabi Olaoye Ghandi as Soun of Ogbomoso, a socio-cultural group— Ògbómòsó Descendants Development Association, ODDA, has thanked the governor.
ODDA, in a statement by its chairman and Akọgun of Ògbómòsóland, AVM Chief Dr. JB Adigun (rtd) and made available to the press by its media and publicity director, ‘Segun Aremu, also congratulated the new monarch.

We the Ogbomoso Descendants Development Association (ODDA) join all Ogbomoso sons and daughters home and abroad to congratulate our revered Kabiyesi, Oba Soun of Ogbomosoland on your successful installation as the next monarch of our great ancestral land.
The announcement of your emergence as the next Soun of Ogbomosoland to filling the vacant stool of our ancestral land was overwhelmingly received with joy and happiness having been without a king for over a year. Your nomination, emergence and subsequent approval by His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. ‘Seyi Makinde gladden our heart beyond measure.
We sincerely appreciate our dear Governor, His Excellency Engr. Seyi Makinde FNSE for making this to happen and it is our earnest prayer that he continues to the good work he has started in taking the state to an enviable height.
Kabiyesi, we are confident that our land shall experience an unprecedented growth in every area of life, peace, tranquility, joy, happiness, fulfillment, love, harmony and economic development as you ascend to the throne; may the reign Oba bring successes that we all may rejoice.
As one of the leading formidable socio-cultural associations, we therefore pledge our unflinching allegiance, support to the king in collaboration with other groups and individuals so as to making the reign of Kabiyesi an enviable one.
It is worthy of note dear king, that our ancestral home has been famous for good things, this we promise to support Kabiyesi in sustaining and indeed become greater than we were in the interest of Kabiyesi and our people.
One of our cardinal objectives in ODDA just as the name implies is for growth and development of Ogbomoso and its people amongst others; this we shall intensify efforts the more to achieve and as we look forward to your coronation, it is our hope and prayer that God will give Kabiyesi sound health, the knowledge, wisdom and courage to lead us aright.
May the reign of Kabiyesi be a blessing to all and sundry.
