The new Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Senator (Dr.) Lekan Balogun has been described as “an unprecedented Ibadan king” who is capable of attracting unprecedented developments to Nigeria’s largest city.
The Ayingun Olubadan and lawmaker representing Oyo Central Senatorial District, Senator Teslim Kolawole extols the virtue of the new Olubadan in his felicitation message made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday.
The Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content stated that Oba Lekan Balogun is an “Unprecedented Olubadan” because he is the first accomplished educationist, successful politician, seasoned administrator and well-exposed personality to ascend the exalted throne.
“On behalf Baale Royal family and the good people of Oyo Central Senatorial District, I convey our best wishes to Your Imperial Majesty, Oba Senator (Dr.) Lekan Balogun on the auspicious occasion of your coronation as 42nd Olubadan of Ibadanland”.
“Kabiyesi, your peaceful ascension to the throne of your forefathers is Divine. I thank Almighty God for your life. I am confident that you will leverage on your wealth of experience, innovative ideas, honour, dignity and glorious strides to advance the cause of the people of Ibadan, Oyo State, Yorubaland and Nigeria at large”.
