The ICT Park features a 100-seat main hall, five dedicated ICT hub halls, a 24-seater lounge with eight dual-computer workstations, multiple shared workspaces, and administrative offices.

Speaking at the event, the Commission’s EVC noted that the facility, one of six flagship digital infrastructure projects established by the Commission in select institutions across the country, forms an integral part of their broader agenda to foster innovation, strengthen research capacity, and accelerate the development of Nigeria’s digital economy.

“In today’s world, technology stands as one of the most powerful drivers of economic and social transformation. For Nigeria’s evolving economy, it represents our greatest opportunity for inclusive growth.

“The ICT Park concept is a manifestation of our vision to cultivate innovation and digital entrepreneurship, while supporting research and development that translates ideas into commercially viable, real-world solutions. This is why our ICT Parks—aptly named “One Roof, All Possibilities” are purpose-built as multidisciplinary innovation hubs,” he explained.

Speaking further, he noted that the establishment aligns directly with the National Digital Economy Policy and Strategy, as well as the Strategic Vision of the Honourable Minister of Communications, Innovation and Digital Economy, Dr. Bosun Tijani.

By establishing this ICT Park within the University of Ibadan, we are intentionally aligning our investment with the university’s unique academic strengths. We aim to foster a thriving innovation ecosystem where cutting-edge ICT infrastructure complements advanced education, particularly in fields such as railway engineering, logistics, and transport management.

“The facility is also designed to facilitate the integration of emerging technologies, such as Artificial Intelligence (AI) and the Internet of Things (IoT), into the future of mobility and transportation systems,” he added.
