The Oyo State government on Tuesday said the people will not forget in a hurry the eight-year misrule of the All Progressives Congress (APC) government under former Governor Abiola Ajimobi.

The government was reacting to a statement credited to the APC in Oyo State, where the party asked the governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, to fulfill his electoral campaign of employment generation for the jobless youths in the state.

In a statement signed by the Commissioner for Information, Culture and Tourism, Hon. Wasiu Olatunbosun, the government said the statement by the APC only confirmed the failure of the Ajimobi-led administration in the area of workers welfare, education, economy, infrastructure as well as traditional institution .

Olatunbosun said under the APC administration, people’s means of livelihood were destroyed without providing alternative, adding that capital freight was the hallmark of the Ajimobi-led administration.

”Why didn’t the APC government pay full N18,000 during their administration. Their government was known for massive disengagement of civil servants from service.

“In the area of education, many parents were forced to remove their children from school because of the exorbitant school fees, thereby making the state one of top ten with out-of-school students in Nigeria,” Olatunbosun said.

The Commissioner added that the Seyi Makinde-led administration is determined to reposition the state along its four cardinal programmes which he said are: free education, qualitative and affordable health service , security and agriculture.

He further stated that the people of the state should see the new year as a year of ” restoration of lost values.”

Olatunbosun implored the people of the state to beware of the antics of APC footsoldiers who he said are best known for cheap blackmail.

He said the current administration in the state appreciates the support it is enjoying from the people of the state, adding that the opposition’s call should be discarded “since it has no place in logical reasoning and it should be regarded as utterances of a drunk man with mouth diarrhea.”
