The Executive Chairman of Ajorosun Local Council Development Area, Yinka Adeyemi has described the Judgement of the Supreme Court on the case between Oyo State Government and ALGON which ended in favour of the latter as the price the people of Oyo State has to pay for the inexperience of Governor Seyi Makinde of Oyo State.
Fielding questions from Aanuoluwapo Omorinde today on BOTTOM LINE – a political programme on IBR 92.5fm Ibadan, Adeyemi said it is quite unfortunate that tax payers hard earned money will be used to settle the apex court’s order.
Justifying his claim, he said Governor Seyi Makinde is the only Governor in Oyo State since 1999 without political experience hence, what he described as “blunders” of the Governor in Office.
“Late Lam Adesina was a former member of the House of Reps before he became a Governor, Rashid Ladoja was a Senator before he became a Governor, Adebayo Alao-Akala was a local government Chairman before he became a Governor, our own Abiola Ajimobi was a Senator and infact, a Deputy Chief Whip of the Senate before he became a Governor. Who was Governor Seyi Makinde before he became a Governor? It will definitely show and that is what we are seeing. I can’t make such a mistake because I have been an elected Local government Chairman. I will not say because I am a beneficiary and not say the truth. It is unfortunate that the State will have to pay twice for one job and it is because they know it is the local government that will pay the money”.
He dismissed the insinuation that Chairmen who served in LCDAs will not be paid as the Constitution does not recognize them.
“People should go and study the Judgement. The Supreme Court asked the State government to pay everyone of us. I watched the judgement and our Lawyers have been talking to us. The Court asked the government to pay us all”.
