Medical students of Ladoke Akinola University of Technology – Ogbomoso have commended Com. Onilede Solomon-led Alumni Association for facilitating their relocation from Osogbo to Ogbomoso, following the transfer of citadel of learning to Oyo State.
Recall, the Alumni Association at its Global Assembly held in Ibadan on 11th December 2020, resolved to address various challenges confronting the relocating medical students. After interfacing with the governments of Oyo and Osun States as well as the school management, the Association has ensured relocation of the concerned students to Ogbomoso.
In separate appreciation letters, students of Medicine, Nursing and Medical Laboratory Science, thumped up for Com. Onilede Solomon-led Alumni Association for financing their transportation to Ogbomoso.
According to a letter signed by acting Senate President of Medicine Department – Adeleke Nurudeen, LAUTECH’s takeover by Oyo State left the clinical students confused and helpless until the timely intervention of Alumni Association. The letter stated that the Alumni Association in collaboration with the office of Dean of Student Affairs solved one of their major challenges, which is relocation to Ogbomoso.
Nursing students, in a letter signed by their President Com.Temilade Adekoya, expressed their gratitude to the School Management, the Dean of Student Affairs, and most especially the Alumni Association led by Com. Onilede Solomon who swiftly came to their aid by facilitating their relocation to Ogbomoso through the provision of three coaster buses.
The students of Medical Laboratory Science, through their President – Adeola Kolawole, also expressed their appreciation to the management, Dean Students affairs and the LAUTECH Alumni association for their unwavering supports since the announcement of movement of students from Osogbo to Ogbomoso.
According the students, “The Global President promised that our welfare would be well taken care of in Ogbomoso, and he did not delay this as he worked with the DSA to provide us with 3 buses to pack our properties to Ogbomoso with all expenses paid by the alumni”.
“We really appreciate their support, we urge the Oyo State Government, management, Alumni association to make our stay in Ogbomoso comfortable by providing the necessary facilities, which will enable smooth academics activities”
The students while assuring their cooperation, appealed to the Oyo State Government and the school management to ensure academic activities do not suffer setbacks as a result of transfer of ownership.
