Senator Olufemi Lanlehin (Solan) has mourned the death of a former Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Chief Michael Adeniyi Koleosho, describing the death of the octogenarian as a sad reminder of the inevitability of death for all mortals.

Koleosho, Babalaje of Saki and a titan in politics, business, and community development, both in Oyo State and Nigeria as a whole, reportedly died, aged 86, on Monday, 2 September, 2024.

Lanlehin, reacting through his Media Assistant, Dr. Damola Adeoye, in a statement in Ibadan, reflected on the indelible contributions of Chief Koleosho to the ideals of progressive politics, human capital development, and community growth and advancement, noted that Oyo State and Nigeria will miss Babalaje, sorely.

“Chief Koleosho’s imprints are indelible, not only in his native Saki and Oke-Ogun, but across the length and breath of Oyo State and Nigeria, where his political sagacity and business acumen demonstrated largely, his commitment to the welfare of the people,” Lanlehin said.

“In serving as SSG in the administration of our leader, Alh. Lam Adesina, and as National Chairman of the Alliance for Democracy (AD), Chief Koleosho, showed that politics, should only be a means to an end, and that, that end, should be an avowed commitment to the upliftment of the people.”

Condoling the Koleosho family, Lanlehin urged them to take solace in the good name left behind and the life of service that Babalaje lived, urging them to continue in that regard without wavering.

Senator Lanlehin, who prayed for the repose of the soul of Chief Koleosho, equally prayed that the Almighty grant the Koleosho family, as well as friends and associates, the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.
