FOLLOWING remarks by the African Democratic Congress, ADC, that former governor Rashidi Ladoja, is working for the ruling All Progressives Congress, ahead of the 2019 general elections in Oyo State, the Zenith Labour Party, ZLP, has dismissed it, describing the ADC as a party of blackmailers.
The party, in a statement by its spokesperson, Olajide Olanipekun, said the ADC is saddened by the “popular acceptance of ZLP by the masses and electorates of Oyo State following the press interviews and tour of Media Houses by the Leadership of ZLP is now constituting headache to the empty ADC and have now taken to blackmail which will worsen the already bad situation of the party.
This is just as the party threatened to sue any ADC candidate who doesn’t remove Ladoja’s picture from their campaign posters, handbills or billboards failure for impersonation.
ADC, A Drowning Party full of Blackmail.
The attention of the Zenith Labour Party, Oyo State has been drawn to a press statement by Mr Adedapo Ademola, the state PRO of ADC Oyo State insinuating a conspiracy between ZLP ably led by High Chief Adewolu Ladoja and APC to pull down ADC
ZLP reaction is very simple and clear – ADC is a drowning party which is holding on to any straw for survival which is now blackmail.
It is crystal clear that since High Chief Rashidi Ladoja left ADC, the party has become a carcass and as empty as a snail shell after the removal of the snail.
The mass exodus that hit ADC after Chief Ladoja left has beclouded the reasoning of the party Leaders who are the ‘Unity Group’ that recently splintered from APC. The popular acceptance of ZLP by the masses and electorates of Oyo State following the press interviews and tour of Media Houses by the Leadership of ZLP is now constituting headache to the empty ADC and have now taken to blackmail which will worsen the already bad situation of the party.
It will be recalled that ZLP led by Chief Ladoja has embarked on Media houses tours to clear the air on which party Senator Ladoja belongs to. This media tour of ZLP is occasioned by the continual and persistent claim by ADC Leaders that Chief Ladoja is still a member of their party and continuous usage of Ladoja’s pictures on their campaign posters and bill boards, which has not ceased till date.
Any keen observer of the political climate of Oyo State will note that ZLP has brought a new dawn of issue based campaign to Oyo state by stating clearly the shortcomings of the APC led government in Oyo state and how the Party will return good governance to the state after winning the March 2nd 2019 election and the swearing in of Barrister Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli as the next governor of Oyo state come May 29, 2019 by the grace of God.
That ADC is insinuating conspiracy between ZLP and APC is bereave of any Logic as Chief Ladoja has left no one in doubt with the condemnation of APC policies of pauperising Nigerians both at National and Oyo state levels. For the umpteenth time, ZLP has shown that it is ready to take over the Oyo state government by winning the next election and thereby displacing APC government that is without human face. So to insinuate any meeting of minds between APC and ZLP by ADC is an effort I’m futility that cannot fly.
We hereby warn the ADC to face its internal crisis of not having Gubernatorial candidate with the INEC in Oyo state for the March 2nd/2019 election and the avalanche of cases pending in the court.
Also, we hereby issue a stern warning to ALL ADC candidates to IMMEDIATELY remove the photographs of Chief Ladoja from their campaign posters, handbills or billboards failure to do so, we will be left with no other option than to seek redress in a court of competent jurisdiction for impersonation which may be both criminal and civil.
In conclusion, ZLP Oyo State appreciates the masses and electorates of Oyo state for the wide acceptance they have given to the party so far and urges them to keep faith with the party so to end the misgovernment of APC and allow ZLP to bring back good governance to Oyo by voting massively for the party’s candidates during the February 16, 2019 National Assembly poll and March 2, 2019 poll.
