Oyo state gubernatorial aspirant, Dr Ololade Usman Bakare has bagged a distinguished award at the 2025 Lecture/Award Day of the Oyo State Labour Veterans Association.
The event which was held at the NUJ press centre, Iyaganku, drew labour leaders, captains of industries and policy makers together on the topic; Labour Movement in Nigeria: Building Bridges to Peaceful Political Institution Towards 2027.
Dr Bakare appreciated the leadership of the association and remarked that labour unions are key to any successful governance in Nigeria. He called on labour veterans to continue to support the progressives government under administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and his gubernatorial ambition for Oyo State.
Dr Bakare, a chartered tax professional described the newly signed tax reforms bill by the President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as a major step toward economic recovery, stimulation and national transformation.
He made the statement while addressing press shortly after he received the award. He described President Tinubu’s initiative as a welcome development that has the potential to significantly improve the economic landscape of the country.
