Bolanle Agbaje, a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly, has returned to the All Progressives Congress, APC, leaving Joseph Tegbe, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, whom she had joined last year’s May, behind, OYOINSIGHT.COM can report.
This newspaper learnt that Agbaje and Tegbe were both members of the APC before they joined the PDP.
A letter dated 30th August 2023 and addressed to the state chairman of the APC, Agbaje, who represented Ibadan North state constituency 1 between 2015 and 2019, reads:
MEMBERSHIP No. OY/BDJ/06/11020: NOTIFICATION OF RETURN TO THE PARTY
The above subject matter refers.
“Kindly take this as a notification that I am fully back as a member of The All Progressive, Congress (APC), Oyo State. You may recall that I am a foundation member of the party having started from the AC to ACN legacy days.
“Recent pronouncements and actions by the national leadership of the party have convinced me that the issues that informed my leaving the party will now be addressed truthfully, honestly, and equitably.”
Agbaje, OYOINSIGHT.COM recalled, had in the letter of her resignation from the APC, said that APC, since 2015 when she used it to contest and won, has consistently moved away from its founding ideals, tenets of democracy and sound ethical principles for the benefit of few to the detriment of the collective.
This newspaper recalled that Agbaje was unable to secure the 2019 house of representatives ticket of the APC in Ibadan North federal constituency.
