Three lawyers of Oyo State origin are part of the 87 lawyers elevated by the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC), as senior advocates of Nigeria.
Yusuff Olatunji Ogunrinde, who is currently commissioner/member of the Oyo State Judicial Service Commission, JSC, made the list. Akinyemi Oluwole Olujinmi, an Ibadan-born lawyer who plies his legal profession outside the state, also made it.
Ogunrinde’s elevation makes it three the numbers of senior advocates the administration of ‘Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, has produced.
Oyelowo Oyewo, a law professor from the University of Lagos who was attorney general and commissioner for justice and current chairman of the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission, OYSIEC, had initially been elevated.
