The Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde has ordered a 50% reduction in salaries of all senior political appointees in state with immediate effect.
The governor made the order while participants at the 2020 International Workers’ Day held at the secretariat of the Nigeria Labour Congress on Friday.
He, however, noted that civil servants in the state would not be affected by the paycut, saying that “nothing will affect the welfare and payment of the workers salary despite the dwindling economy.”
He added that the paycut would be channelled towards the execution and completion of developmental projects in the state.
