Seyi Makinde, governor of Oyo State, will replace Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto as chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governors’ forum.
This was just as former senate president Adolphus Wabara, has been named acting chairman of the party’s Board of Trustees following the resignation of Walid Jibrin.
The new happenings within the PDP are as a result of Nyesom Wike’s threat that he and his colleagues would not work for the party of the southern members are not pacified. Wike and others are also asking for the resignation of Iyorchia Ayu as national chairman of the party.
Makinde’s emergence came few hours after the former house of representative speaker resigned his position to allow peace in the party.
Only last night, Makinde, after many entreaties by the leadership of the PDP, met Atiku Abubakar, presidential candidate of the party.
Wike, who is leader of the faction that comprises Samuel Ortom (Benue), Okezie Ikpeazu (Abia), Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi (Enugu), said he wouldn’t stop at anything to fight injustice in the party.
