The All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo and other states of the federation may not have new executive members until 2022.
This is becoming real following the postponement of the party’s planned national convention and state congresses indefinitely.
A letter obtained by OYOINSIGHT.COM which was forwarded to the Independent National Electoral Commission jointly signed by Sen. John James Akpan Udoedehe, National Secretary CECPC of the party and Governor Mai Mala Buni, National Chairman Caretaker of the party, confirmed the development.
The letter dated 6th July 2021 was titled “Re:Notice For The Conduct of Congress”.
It reads “We refer to our letter reference number APC/NHDQ/INEC/19/021/20 dated 10th June, 2021 on the above subject and wish to inform the Commission that the Party has rescheduled its Congresses and National Convention to a later date which will be communicated to you.
“This serves as a formal notification pursuant to the provisions of Section 85 of the Electoral Act (2010) as amended”.
It would be recalled that President Muhammadu Buhari had in June extended the tenure of the Governor Mai Mala Buni-led National Caretaker Committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) by another six months.
