Following motion by three-term lawmaker representing AFIJIO/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West federal constituency in the house of representatives, Akeem Adeyemi, the National Examination Council, NECO, Minna has postponed indefinitely its staff promotion examination scheduled for 14th and 15th February.
OYOINSIGHT.COM recalls that the Oyo prince and chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, had this week moved that the Green Chambers asked that the exercise should be on zonal basis instead of the 1,500 staff coming Minna, Niger State headquarters of the examination body.
Among other things, Skimeh, as the former council gaffer is known, cited insecurity. The house, it would be recalled, later forwarded its resolution to the body.
NECO, in a letter Friday, signed by Folake Eweje, its director of human resource management, said they have postponed the promotion exercise indefinitely, explaining that the “postponement is contained in a directive by the Committee on Basic Examination Bodies, House of Representatives of the National Assembly in a letter referenced NASS/HR/10/CT.20/64 dated 9th February, 2024.”
