A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State, Adegboyega Abdulrasheed has congratulated former Lagos State Governor, Bola Tinubu, on his nomination as the party’s presidential flag lbearer.
Tinubu, who is the party’s national leader, emerged at the party’s Presidential primaries held earlier this week.
In a statement on Friday, Adegboyega, who was an House of Representatives aspirant for Oluyole Federal Constituency, noted that Tinubu’s victory at the primaries is also a victory for Nigerians.
“This implication of Asiwaju’s emergence is simple: It’s time to adopt the Lagos Model at the federal level.
“If you look at the economic transformation of Lagos State since 1999 which has now placed it as the largest economic hub in Sub-saharan Africa, you’ll agree with me that doing this is not far-fetched.
“And who else should we give the mandate to do this if not the architect of modern Lagos himself, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu,” he asked rhethorically.
He added that Nigerians must come out enmasse to deliver Tinubu’s victory at the polls next year.
