Chairman of the Nigerian Communications Commission, NCC, Professor Adeolu Akande has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the country’s 60th independence anniversary.
Akande, who made this known in a statement by his media office, said that the county is lucky to have attained the 60 despite all it has passed through.
According to him, “It gives me joy to celebrate our dear country at 60. It is no joke. That we are still one, united entity despite our ethnic and religious identities calls for celebration. Some country were unable to achieve that feat, as they have been divided and have gone their separate ways.
“Sixty years after independence, I must say we have achieved a lot. Though that is not to say we should rest on our oars. There is still much to be done to get us to the promised land.
“More than before, we need to keep praying to God to lead our leaders right and help our youth the truth to know. The time is now and we cannot afford to forge ahead without unity and peace. We are near the promised land,” he added.
