Ajibola Muraina, member representing Ibarapa Central/Ibarapa North federal constituency in the house of representatives has encouraged members of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ibarapaland to continue to stand firm and remain united because it is the only sure path to commanding the attention of political aspirants at all levels.
Saubana, as Muraina is popularly known, made this known at the meeting of party faithful which held in Igangan last Friday.
The three-term lawmaker spoke after leaders which included the likes of Chief Samuel Olawuwo, Hon. Sarafadeen Olaoniye and Hon. Liasu Ololade, Alh Abiola Azeez, Alh Ganiyu Ogundeji, Hon. Apostle Olusegun Okedeji, Mr Segun Adeleye and Mrs Afolabi Toyin had spoken.
The federal lawmaker and grassroot politician expressed faith that success is at hand in this effort to ensure their continued political value and relevance.
He pointed out that Ibarapaland cannot be pushed back politically as he reminded the people that good things for the PDP usually start from Ibarapa, citing the reorganization of the party in Oyo State and the first election success for the party in the present political dispensation, both starting from Ibarapa.
Saubana assured all the leaders, party chairmen and ward executives that God is on their side.
He said, “God is behind us and you can see the signs that they will come looking for you, others who want to contest too will come looking for you. We are getting close to another election period, continue to be prayerful and hard-working so that your hearts will commend you when you start receiving the benefits of your efforts. Whatever God affirms, nobody can turn it around.”
Saubana, emphasizing the fact that he had been busy at the task he was elected for and had not been a benchwarmer, used the opportunity to inform the people of his efforts in the House of Representatives to attract development to the constituency since the last meeting of this nature which held in December, 2021.
These, he said, include seecond reading of the bill to establish Federal College of Education, Idere; motion on the need to recognize and develop Idere Hills as an international tourist centre, motion on the need to rehabilitate Ido-Eruwa-Igboora- Igangan-Iganna road; motion on the need to extend the new rail lines to Sanusi train station.
He thanked all party faithful, women, youths and elders for their commitment, as he announced sums of money to facilitate their transport back home.
