Former Oyo’s first lady and Nigeria’s ambassador to Austria, Florence Ajimobi on Monday took a bolder move to ensure victory for the All Progressives Congress, APC, in the state when she hosted governorship aspirants on the platform of the party at her late husband’s Ikoyi, Lagos residence.
At the meeting which had the governorship candidate of the party in the 2023 election, Teslim Folarin; former deputy governor Aderemi Olaniyan, senators representing Oyo North and South districts, AbdulFatai Buhari and Sharafadeen Alli respectively; former Ibadan bar chair, Akeem Agbaje; lawmaker representing Ibarapa East/Ido federal constituency Remi Oseni; minister of power, Adebayo Adelabu; party leader Fatai Ibikunle; chairman, Moses Alake Adeyemo and party chieftain, Idris Adeoye in attendance, they resolved that they would be loyal to who whoever President Bola Tinubu suggest to them.
The meeting which began at 11am and lasted till 2:30 pm, saw the stakeholders agreeing that “the process to choose candidates for the party must be all-inclusive, and it was agreed that the president should be visited and hear from him rather than through the third party about his choice for the state.”
