In Ibadan, Man Goes Solo, Protests Increase In Petrol Price, Electricity Tariff

On Thursday, a man staged a solo protest opposite the main gate of the University of Ibadan to protest the increase in petrol price and electricity tarrif.

He was seen carrying a placard that read: “I can’t take this anymore, increased petrol price and Electricity tariff”

An eyewitness, Boogyman (@Tobbsticks), who saw the one-man protest wrote on Twitter: “Saw this one-man Protest opposite the University of Ibadan.”

OYOINSIGHT recalls that on Wednesday, the Petroleum Products Marketing Company, a subsidiary of the NNPC, increased the ex-depot price of the PMS to N151.56 per litre, with marketers saying the product would be sold at between N162 and N165 per litre.

The electricity tariff was also increased to N66 per kwh.

This has generated angry reactions from concerned Nigerians.
