Raufu Olaniyan, deputy governor of Oyo State, has responded to allegations by the state assembly, OYOINSIGHT.COM can authoritatively report.
His lawyers, this newspaper learnt, were said to have filed and sent to the clerk of the assembly four days ago, three days after the 7-day ultimatum was given.
It would recalled that the assembly has notified the Igboho-born retired former permanent secretary of impeachment move against him.
The allegations came few days after Olaniyan ditched the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, for the All Progressives Congress, APC.
Olaniyan, OYOINSIGHT.COM understands, has also been drafted to the ministry of environment where he is discharging his duties as number 2 citizen.
A top official of the assembly also confirmed that the deputy governor has submitted his reply to the allegations leveled against him.
Kazeem Olayanju, spokesman of the assembly, also confirmed the development Thursday morning while speaking on Fresh 105.9 FM’s Situation Room anchored by Isaac Brown.
Olayanju said the response from Olaniyan will be read on the floor next Wednesday when the lawmakers return to the assembly.
