Chief Adebayo Adelabu has commiserated with the traders of Araromi Auto spare parts market at Agod-Gate over the inferno that engulfed the market in the early hours of Saturday 3rd of April where goods worth millions of Naira were lost.
According to him “I am shocked, sad and troubled at the loss of goods and source of livelihood. At a time when many are struggling to make ends meet, such an incident can only further elongate hardships and extend the poverty net in our state.
We thank God that no live was lost in this incident.
This market is very important to the economy of our dear state. All stakeholders must come together to find a lasting solution to prevent a recurrence of such incidents.
He stated further that the government must re-organise the market in such a way that there will be access roads, car parks, standby fire fighting equipments, a police post, public toilets and other amenities that could prevent future occurrence.
