A socio-cultural organization for all sons and daughters of Ibadan origin based in United States of America, Ibadan Descendants Union, has given out cash palliative running into millions of naira to widows, aged women and wives resident in compounds in Ibadan.

According to the PRO of IDU, Mrs Ronke Adebanjo, the cash palliative was distributed to women in some selected compounds in Ibadan to cushion the effects of the hardship being currently experienced by Nigerians as a result of the persistent inflation which has made prices of food items beyond the reach of average Nigerians.

The National President, Oloye Abiola Iyiola, who is the Ajia Olubadan of Ibadanland, also stated further that women were especially targeted for the cash palliative since they were the ones who take care of their children through feeding. “Our members at IDU, USA came together to raise funds for distribution to our mothers and wives at home to lessen the impacts of skyrocketing prices of food items in our country. We embarked on this gesture to tell our people at home that we have them in mind and we will continue to do what we can to support them at this trying time as a way of giving back to our people,” Oloye Abiola reiterated.

The National Vice President of the socio-cultural organization, Alhaja Biola Ajibade, while offering prayers of long life, good health and more blessing for IDU members who pooled funds together to make the cash distributions possible, implored their members to do more for their people as she also said that God would reward them with better gestures.
