Engr. Ibraheem Folarin Bello was on Saturday inaugurated as the second chairman of the Nigerian Institution of Power Engineers, Ibadan chapter at an investiture ceremony held at the University of Ibadan.
The event also featured inauguration of the new executive members too.
The ceremony themed ‘Renewable Off-Grid Power System in Nigeria’, was chaired by the national chairman of the institution, Engr. Israel Abraham.
Speaking at the event, Bello said his administration will “climb further to see and continue building” on the “indelible and solid legacies” laid down by his predecessor.
“I am on a mission/agenda which is: A Roadmap to Sustainable Electrification of Oyo State through aiding of current problems of the power supply situatuon in the state and preferring solutions,” he said.
Speaking further, he expressed readiness to ensure the institution remains “an independent body with the highest technical skills and intellectual competence, and take responsibility to serve as appropriate reservoir of knowledge.”
He added that he will serve the association selflessly throughout his tenure.
The new chairman holds a Bachelors and Masters degree in electrical and electronics engineering from the Ladoke Akintola University, Ogbomosho.
He is a senior manager operation with the Transmission Company of Nigeria, Plc.
