Ibadan East LCDA Boss Flags Off Immunization Programme For Market Women

The caretaker chairman, Ibadan East local Council Development Area, Hon. Abiodun Babalola, in conjunction with Childhood Immunization Strategy for Working Mothers (Childhood Vaccination Made Easy).

Under the supervision of Prof Kemi Amodu, Head of Department, Institute of Child Health, College of Medicine, University College Hospital, Ibadan has flagged off immunization program targeted at children between the ages of 0- 9 years at Ile igbejo, Oje Market, of the council area.

The council boss, in his address, said the program was brought to the doorstep of Oje Market to afford market women to take the vaccine for their children.

He said the government will reciprocate the kind gesture of Prof Kemi Amodu and appealed to others to emulate this Laudadable idea to support the government.

Hon. Babalola appreciated the coordinator of the program for her good deeds towards the LCDA for market women to benefit the immunization. He appealed to the market women to make judicious use of the opportunity.

Prof Kemi Amodu the Founder of Childhood Immunization Strategy for Working Mothers in her remarks said immunization is very important for all children but most women don’t get it for their wards because of busy schedule and this is why the program was brought to the market for convenience of Oje market women and environs

Prof Amodun enjoined all market women to make it as a point of duty to make themselves available on every Wednesday to take vaccine for their children.

Alhaji Ayinde Saliu Delesolu and Alhaja Laaro Kemi Akala, Babaloja and Iyaloja Oje market in their separate remarks appreciated the good gesture of the government and Prof Amodu towards them, therefore encouraged the market women not to misuse the opportunity.

Present at the flag off are super for Education, Hon. Olasupo Ibrahim, and supervisor for Works Hon. Gbenga Oyewunmi, Director of Education and Social services Mrs OO Ajao amongst others.
