As a symbolic show of unflinching support and solidarity to the realization of Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat’s 2027 governorship ambition, the entire structure of Orankan Support Groups, OSG was mobilized to grace the epoch making declaration of intent by Alhaji (Dr) Oriyomi Hamzat.
Alhaji Oriyomi, an ace Broadcaster cum human rights Activist is the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the popular Agidigbo 88.7 FM, Ibadan.
Forty 18-seater buses with banners, conveyed members of the OSG who were gaily dressed in Yellow customized T-shirts and Fez Caps to match were visibly present at all the nooks and crannies of the Obafemi Awolowo stadium, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, venue of the declaration.
OSG members in hundreds, exemplifying orderliness and unity as they displayed banners and flyers were drawn from the 33 local government areas of Oyo state.
The ACCORD Senatorial Candidate for Oyo Central, Ambassador Shakirullah Orankan made an entry with grandeur motorcade, to the admiration of supporters.
The Apex body of the OSG, under the chairmanship of Sheikh Mansur Murtadho-Abdusalaam, a prominent member of Oyo N Pe O apex body, Dr Musa Alongbija and the Chairman, Irorun-Ni Charitable Foundation, ICF, Nigeria, who is the ACCORD Senatorial candidate for Oyo Central Senatorial District Ambassador Shakirullah Orankan, alongside Zonal and local government Coordinators of the OSG graced the event amidst the VIP lounge of the stadium.
The OSG Chairman, Sheikh Mansur Murtadho-Abdusalaam said the rally was a clear signal for power shift in the governance of the pace setter state.
“OSG is a strategic ally of this movement towards reclaiming the glory of Oyo; we are resolute in our efforts to galvanize support for Alhaji Oriyomi and Ambassador Orankan for them to emerge victorious in 2027, he asserted.
Corroborating the view, a member of the Apex body of Oyo N Pe O and the National Treasurer, ICF, Dr Musa Alongbija affirmed that the time for human-centred governance with prospects of delivering dividends of good governance beckons in Oyo state and Oyo Central Senatorial District as Alhaji Oriyomi and Ambassador Orankan sojourn throw their hats in the ring under the ACCORD platform.
“Our yearnings for genuine representation and the peoples Governor has come. Let’s support the movement to change the narrative of political entrepreneurship, Alongbija advised.
In his remarks, the ACCORD Senatorial candidate for Oyo Central, Ambassador Shakirullah Orankan stated that his aspiration is born out of desire for selfless service, humanitarian concern and willingness to offer better representation to the constituents.
Ambassador Orankan declared that”I have been rendering humanitarian services nationwide; it’s essential for my immediate constituency to benefit from responsible and responsive representation”.
In his declaration, Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat said the public proclamation of his intention for Oyo governorship race would put an end to insinuations.
Alhaji Oriyomi Hamzat, who told supporters he has heeded the call to service, promised to fulfill his promises of good governance by implementing pro-masses policies.
The National Chairman ACCORD, Barr. Maxwell Mgbudem, the ACCORD National Secretary, Hon. Dr Adebukola Abiola Ajaja and the Oyo state working committee of the party, under the chairmanship of Prince Kolade Ojo officially welcome Alhaji Oriyomi into the party’s fold with a presentation of the membership card.
