A former commissioner for youth and sports in Oyo State, Umar-Farouk Arisekola, has described the late Oba Jimoh Oyewumi, Soun of Ogbomoso, as a monarch who lived a simple life.
It would be recalled that the monarch, who ascended the throne in 1973, died in the early hours of Sunday.
The All Progressives Congress, APC, chieftain, who is the son of late Aare Musulumi of Yorubaland, Edo and Delta states, said Ogbomoso has lost a monarch whose main goal was the development of the town.
”I console the family. It isn’t easy but as Muslims, it is one of those things. Alhamdulilah, he lived a very good life, a simple one for that matter. I will like to urge us to continue to pray for him and the family he left behind. Also, we should try to emulate his good deeds. The little I know about him, he was at peace with everyone. I condole everybody, especially the Ogbomosos,” he said.
