He Became Indisposed After Delivering A Lecture— OYSCATECH Reveals How ‘Highly Resourceful’ Onike Died

The management of the Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, OYSCATECH, Igboora, has revealed how its deputy registrar, Rahaman Onike died.

According to a condolence message signed by the Registrar, Mr. R.F.A. Adeniji on behalf of the Management, “we are greatly devastated and saddened by the sudden passage of Mr. Onike, whose death occurred on Thursday, 11th September, 2025.”

“The deceased who became indisposed shortly after delivering a lecture on campus was rushed to the hospital for prompt medical attention but was later pronounced dead by Medical Experts,” he said.

The Rector, therefore commiserated with the Registry Department, Staff, Students, Friends, Colleagues, Wife, Children and Family over the colossal loss.

“It is with a heavy heart but in submission to the will of Almighty Allah that the Rector, Prof. Akinola Akinlabi announces the death of a highly resourceful Staff and seasoned Administrator, Alhaji Onike Rahman, the Deputy Registrar, Students’ Affairs for Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora,” the statement made available to journalist by Olawore Opeyemi, Public Relations Officer of the institution on Friday morning added.

According to the family, his remains will be laid to rest in Oyo town on Friday, 12th September, 2025 as body departs from Igboora to Oyo town by 7.00am.
Until his death, Mr. Onike was an immediate past congregation representative on the Governing Council of the Institution, a Deputy Registrar, Prolific writer, Public Speaker, respected Comrade, Activist and diligent Staff.

He joined the services of Oyo State College of Agriculture and Technology, Igboora as an Administrative Officer II in 2008 and rose to the position of a Deputy Registrar.

He was an Alumnus of Saint Andrew’s College of Education ,Oyo, University of Ibadan, Olivet High School among others.
