Oyo First, a socio-political group, has hit Governor Seyi Makinde’s adviser on market liaison, Mrs. Danjuma Odunayo, for going against the decision of her boss
It would be recalled that Danjuma, against the widely-commended decision of the governor to resolve the crisis among the leadership of traders in the state, has continue to recognize both Alhaji S.A. Jimoh and Princess Folashade Abeo as Babaloja and Iyaloja of the State.
This, Oyo First, in a statement by its spokesperson, Kolapo Basiru, said Danjuma’s action was in contravention of the recent peace move by the governor.
Two weeks ago, the governor had resolved the differences among traders amicably, leading to the ratification of Alhaji Yinusa Abass (YK Abass) and Alhaja Saratu Aduke Konibaje as Babaloja-General and Iyaloja-General respectively.
Asking Danjuma to resign if she is not satisfied by the governor’s action, the group said her action might lead to a fresh controversy.
”We think it is time every concerned stakeholders in market leadership in Oyo State stood up to save the association by not allowing Odunayo Danjuma not impose her selfish wish on them.
“Even if not satisfied with the decision of Governor Seyi Makinde on the leadership of traders in the state, we expected her to see her boss and let her see reason why it shouldn’t be. Acting against the government and governor is a contravention. Mrs Danjuma shouldn’t take the governor’s magnanimity for granted.
”She should rather resign rather than rock the boat of a government she takes part in. She has not right to dabble into what doesn’t concern her and that has been settled, the group counseled.
