He had added that he would consider the construction of the 11-kilometre road that links Akanran to Ijebu Igbo.

OYOINSIGHT.COM understands that the proprietor of Ilaji Resort, Engr. Dotun Sanusi, has assisted in no small measure to put the road in shape.

Only last year, Sanusi, who is the Otun Apesinola of Ibadanland, had, in partnership with the Oyo State Road Maintenance Agency, OYSTROMA, reconstructed the dilapidated 18 kilometer Olorunsogo-Akanran road to ease vehicular movement. Before then, he had bought more than 200 electric poles to get electricity close to the people. This was just as he has continue to create jobs for the people of the area.

Apart from hotels with close to 200 rooms, Ilaji boasts of an international sports facility as well as the ongoing construction of an artificial beach and beach hotel at its Oloyo, Akanran environment.

Makinde had added that the people of South West must always seek for better integration of the zone by considering what unites them rather than what divides the region.

Saying that pastors and politicians are reflections of then society, Makinde noted that “And as a government, we will make sure that whatever we can do to integrate Yorubaland and South West will be done.”“
