A chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Oyo State, Hon. Funke Adesiyan, has commiserated with the people of Ibadanland over the demise of Oba Saliu Adetunji.
Adesiyan, who is an aide of the First Lady, Aisha Bihari, in a statement, said that Ibadan, the Oyo State capital, has lost a darling monarch, praying God to repose the soul of the departed Kabiyesi.
“I join other Nigerians to mourn the demise of the revered Oba Saliu Adetunji, Olubadan of Ibadan. Though he died at a ripe age of 93, we would have loved him to reign for more years.
“Though his reign was short, it was characterized by many developmental strides as he attracted many investors to the ancient city.
“I commiserate with the family and the people of Ibadanland over this unfortunate loss. May God give us the fortitude to bear the loss and grant the departed monarch Aljannah Firdaus.”
