The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in Oyo State, Senator Teslim Folarin has denied plan to sack any public servant employed under the administrations of Governor Seyi Makinde and his predecessor, Senator Abiola Ajimobi if he wins the state governorship election scheduled to hold on March 11th.

The leading gubernatorial candidate made this clarification in Ibadan om Monday while interacting with top civil and public servants.

He noted that he stands for politics of development, therefore no reason to retrench any worker when elected as Governor.

‘I urge pensioners, civil and public servants in Oyo State to discountenance fake news being spread by the agents of the outgoing PDP government that I’ll retrench workers”.

“I was a civil servant in UK for almost 20 years before venturing into partisan politics. Likewise, my running-mate (Dr. Taiwo Okunlola) was also a civil servant for almost 22 years (8 years as secondary school teacher and 14 years as a university lecturer). Both of us cannot afford to fail the private, civil and public servants in Oyo State. Oyo State workers and pensioners are in safe hands”.

“It is a statement of fact that civil and public servants under Governor Seyi Makinde of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) are being under-utilized with consultants engaged to take over their statutory responsibilities. An average civil/public official operates in an unfavorable working environment. Civil service rules and procedures are being relegated to the background. With a mindset of immediate rescue, I assure that both public and civil service will be repositioned for a better, vibrant and efficient service delivery as laid down by our
    progenitors.

“Our administration is determined to motivate civil and public servants for effective service delivery, through prompt payment of salaries and allowances; promotion as and when due, and training for capacity building”

“APC administration under my watch will ensure regular payment of gratuity and pensions. We’ll reposition the civil and public service for effective and efficient
    performance”.

“We will discontinue the use of consultants in civil/public servants’ assignments. I guarantee job security for civil and public servants as well as prompt remittance of deductions as at when due”.
