A former member of Oyo State House of Assembly, Fatai Adeniyi Adesina, has criticized Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, over what he described as his poor reward system towards those who, he said, God used to bring him to power.
The banker cum politician who was reacting to the immortalization of a late member of the House of Representatives, Musiliudeen Olaide with the naming of a Government Reservation Area after him.
Adesina, who said he has no ill-feeling whatsoever against the naming of a GRA after the deceased All Progressives Congress, APC, lawmaker, specifically mentioned that a late former speaker of the state legislature, Kehinde Ayoola, who was instrumental to how he emerged governor has not been duly remembered.
He said Ayoola, who was a commisioner until his demise, strategized and was the one who introduced Makinde to Fortune Club, a group of influential indigenes of the state, who first sold the governor to those he described as ‘political kingmakers’.
Guesting on Rulersworld Television’s OKODORO ORO OSELU in Ibadan, Adesina criticised this decision, saying it is politically motivated and an ‘eye service’ gesture, rather than showing empathy.
The legal practitioner added that a lot of politicians and even the governor’s loyalists have lost their lives within the six years of his tenure which he never compensated nor rewarded their families.
“This is an eye service gesture, a lot of people have died within PDP. Some cannot go out anymore. How many of them has he honored? Is it Akinremi Jagaban that just died? I can name some of his loyalists who has died and he never did anything for his family.”
Adesina, while admitting that every party its issue including his party, the APC, he expressed confidence in the party’s victory ahead of forthcoming elections in the State, with Ibadan North bye election exercise that will be holding on Saturday
He however advised the electorates to think and choose wisely whenever they want to vote a new leader, with vivid consideration of the family background,, community as well as antecedent of such Candidates, so as to progress as a state, have a Competent leader and a developed society.
