EXPLOSION: Ajaja Commiserates With Victims, Wants Sales Of Explosive Materials Controlled

The National Secretary of ACCORD, Hon Adebukola Abiola Ajaja has conveyed heartfelt sympathy to the victims of the heart -wrenching and very destructive explosion which rocked Bodija, Ibadan.

Dr Ajaja decried the monumental loss of lives and valuable properties trailing the blast.

In an emotion laden message in Ibadan, Dr Ajaja commiserates with families, who lost their loved ones, Oyo state government and the general public over the national tragedy.

The national scribe of Accord called for emergency responses to evacuate likely trapped dead bodies from the scene of the unfortunate explosion.

“It is very important for the State Emergency Management Agency and the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA to synergize for coordination of relief materials to the surviving victims.” Ajaja noted.

Dr Ajaja also advised Oyo State government to give support to investigation process and ensure no sacred cow in ensuring justice.

According to her, “those who carelessly unleashed avoidable deaths, wrecked havoc and caused huge destruction of properties, displaced many from their homes should be made to face the full wrath of the law to forestall future recurrence”.

Dr Ajaja who was a former member house of representatives for Ibadan South East/Ibadan North East federal constituency advocated strong collaboration among relevant agencies for implementation of extant environmental laws for safety of lives and properties.

She tasked security agencies on effective border surveillance and discreet intelligence gathering to nip the ugly trend of illegal importation of explosive materials into the country.

“Strict security surveillance at entry and exit points must be intensified across our national borders and around residential areas”. Ajaja advised.
