Before his resignation, he doubled as the Special Adviser on Signage and Advertisement to the Governor

This newspaper gathered that it was not his plan to resign, especially at this point in time, but “current event necessitated it,” sources said.

Adepoju, who hails from the same ward 12 area of Ibadan South West local government area like Governor Abiola Ajimobi, had returned to OYSAA in 2016.

He was first appointed pioneer boss by Ajimobi on April 30th, 2012. He was later asked to vacate the seat for Mr Babajide Fagade, who later left for other ventures.

OYO INSIGHT learnt that he had been having ‘running issues’ with some close associates of the governor, especially his younger brother, Mogaji Wasiu Ajimobi.

“Mogaji has several billboards in town with ‘Ajimobi for senate’ and ‘Bayo Adelabu for governor’ banners. All of a sudden, some of the boards were taken and filled with banners of other people. Maybe the DG (Adepoju) didn’t know it was Mogaji who occupied it. In fact, DG ordered that the one at Iyaganku, when you are coming from Alesinloye, be resized. I think he was given option of resignation in order to protect his image,” sources confided in OYO INSIGHT.

As at the time of filing this report, this newspaper hasn’t been able to speak with the duo of Adepoju and the younger Ajimobi.

Only yesterday, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in March 2nd, 2019 election, Engr. Seyi Makinde, alleged that Ajimobi pressured Adepoju to resign.

According to Makinde, in a statement by Prince Dotun Oyelade, his spokesman, Adepoju resigned “because he refused to  illegally remove the billboards and posters of the opposition particularly Engr Seyi Makindes whose posters and billboards have been persistently defaced and bastardised  by the agents of the ruling party and government in power.
