Effort by Akin Oke, the outgone chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, to smuggle his preferred people as members of the state Excos of the party has hit the rock, OYOINSIGHT.COM has learnt.
The Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention Planning Committee, CECPC, of the APC Wednesday rejected list of state Excos submitted by Oke.
It was reliably gathered that Oke reported to the national secretariat of the party to beat the one-week deadline given to Oyo APC stakeholders to harmonise list of state executives of the party.
Inside sources at the national secretariat of the party told this newspaper that the national caretaker chairman, Governor Mai Mala Buni rejected Oke’s list, citing non-involvement of former governor Alao-Akala in the harmonisation process.
There have been claims and counter-claims on who to midwife harmonization process between the former governor Alao-Akala and the former state chairman of the party.
However, this newspaper understands that with the rejection of Oke’s list in Abuja on Wednesday, Otunba Alao-Akala is expected to oversee the harmonisation process.
