Mr Akinyemi Akinlabi, a former chairman of Ibarapa Central local government in Oyo State has commended President Muhammadu Buhari on the recent appointment of Dr Ismail Adewusi.
He gave the commendation in a statement he personally signed and made available to journalists in Ibadan on Thursday.
It would be recalled that Adewusi, a former Chairman of Ibile Holdings and Commissioner of Finance in Lagos State was recently as Postmaster General and Chief Executive Officer of Nigeria Postal Service (NIPOST).
Akinlabi described Adewusi as a first-class economist, management expert and politician who had over the years contributed to the socioeconomic development of Nigeria.
He described Adewusi’s appointment as a big end on the year gift to the nation, saying the appointee would no doubt transform the parastatal into a profit making centre for the nation like JAMB and Custom Service are doing to the nation.
“With this appointment, Just as mails are being delivered at homes in the developed worlds and Nigerian in the past, Nigerians should expect a return to the era of mails delivery at homes and offices.
“The ability and determination of the appointee to improve the efficiency and service delivery of NIPOST is not in doubt. I am sure the citizen’s confidence in NIPOST will be restored and redeveloped,” he said.
